Rigid Kitchen Ranges

The rigid kitchens from our suppliers (Sheraton, Masterclass) are generally fully assembled with the doors on, and the handles ready for fitting, with the exception of Crown whose doors are packed separately.

Please note: Crown and Symphony are ‘ready to assemble’ but for an assembly fee can be supplied rigid.

There is a mixture of glued and dowelled or cam and dowel assembly/construction, in each case these are assembled by hand with the glued variety being held square in a press whilst the quick cure adhesive sets. The difference in the stability, or rigidity, of either is minimal and is generally only affected by the transport process. The main difference with rigid is increased volume for storage and transport.

Generally, rigid kitchens are made specifically for one client and not for stock and therefore usually require four to six weeks lead time.

It is a fallacy to say that rigid kitchens are better quality than flat pack (sometimes referred to as ‘ready to assemble’); however, there are exceptions please see comments in the flat pack description.

Flat Pack Kitchen Ranges

Omega, Crown and Symphony are ready to assemble, and they utilise the same materials as the rigid kitchens.

Our ready to assemble kitchens from Omega, Crown and Symphony, are well packed and protected using a variety of materials; the quality being equal to their rigid counterparts, with the added benefit of being easy to transport and store especially for fitting in flats where space is at a premium.

Flat pack kitchens, especially the carcasses, can be made for stock to improve lead times in some instances to one week.

There are some flat pack kitchens whose material quality is questionable and these are simply made to a price for those who want something that looks the part for very little money.
