Covers Eco Centre
Covers Timber and Builders Merchants have put the environment at the top of the agenda. In 2007, Covers opened the first Eco Centre in the South East, situated within the Home Improvement Centre at Sussex House, Quarry Lane, Chichester. The Eco Centre was designed to give tradesman and private customers alike the opportunity to see environmentally friendly products working to give a full understanding of what investing in the future entails.
As technology improves so the displays change to ensure only the latest products are available. With an installation service available on certain products Covers offer a complete service to the end user and a useful source of information to the tradesman. With free surveys and expert advice Covers offer a one stop shop for retail and trade 6 days a week.
Working displays include:
Air source heat pumps, photovoltaic solar , solar thermal, Biomass, Underfloor heating, Heat recovery and Water softeners.
Solar PV is a financially attractive way to generate electricity and reduce carbon emissions – both for householders and for commercial premises. In addition to installations on many houses and commercial customer roofs Covers has installed Solar PV on eight out of our thirteen depots' roofs at a cost of £1.3m to generate over 500 MWh of electricity annually (300 T CO2 equivalent).
Covers offers a complete service including the required domestic energy performance certification.
